Job Title: Direct Care Professional for Adults with Disabilities

Location: Sheboygan, WI 53083

Summary: We are seeking compassionate and dedicated caregivers to provide care to individuals with disabilities, assisting them with their daily needs while promoting their independence.

​

Responsibilities:

• Assisting with activities of daily living such as cooking, eating, bathing, grooming, personal hygiene, dressing, exercising and entertainment.

• Facilitating activities and promoting engagement.

• Ensuring a safe and supportive environment.

• Assistance with dispensing of medications.

• Performance of household tasks such as meal preparation, laundry, house cleaning, and home maintenance activities.

• Ensure that residents are given ample opportunity to attend church, church groups, and community activities to provide social, spiritual, and educational opportunities for the residents.  

 

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Experience in providing care to individuals with disabilities or the elderly preferred.

• Certified Nursing Assistant or Certified Direct Care Professional Certification is preferred.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

• Valid driver's license.

• Model Christian based values and morals in your actions and words, to represent McKenzie’s Mission residents and the organization to the community.

• Possess the ability to guide residents in an adult Christian lifestyle.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to sit for a couple hours at a time; and stand/walk for a minimum of 50% of the workday.

• Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs. continuously, up to 20 lbs. frequently, and up to 50 lbs. Occasionally.

• Must be able to document good health, including a negative TB test and be free of communicable disease.
